About Become Better Sport Performance and Personal Training
Become Better Sport Performance and Personal Training is a privately owned and operated gym. We work with a diverse group of clientele in the South Hills of Pittsburgh which include both athletes and non athletes whose ages range from 8-90+ years old. Our services have helped men and women, young and old, reach a variety of health and fitness goals including weight loss, strength improvement, cardiovascular health, and overall ability to perform daily tasks.

Become Better Sport Performance and Personal Training separates itself from other private or commercial gyms by customizing and building programs for every client who comes into our gym. This allows us to best help every client reach their goals while keeping in mind their current fitness level and also working around any injuries or limitations they may have.
Types of Training We Offer:
Private Training: This is often 1-1 training where we directly guide the client through their workout. We stay with them throughout the entire workout telling them what to do, demonstrating exercises and coaching them as needed. This type of training could also be with a partner or small group of friends/family.
Semi-Private Training: This type of training still gives each client a custom made workout, but there will be multiple people participating in this type of training at the same time (each doing their own workout). Clients will grab their workout from a computer/laptop that we provide. They will then follow their program while having access to us to answer any questions they may have. Coaches will walk around making sure that all clients are doing their workouts properly.
(Optional): Volleyball Strength and Conditioning with Pittsburgh Elite Volleyball Club: Work with 20+ teams from 13U to 18U during their practices at their facility in Emsworth, PA. Each team gets about 20-25 minutes of training time. The main goal is to first and foremost teach these athletes how to exercise/lift properly. The focus is typically on larger compound movements such as squats, deadlifts, presses, and pulls along with some prehab exercises and conditioning. Schedule for training are most Tuesday’s and Wednesdays from 5:15 - 9:30 pm and some Sundays from 8:00 am - 1:00 pm. January through May are the predominant months where the club operates.

Due to a steady growth of clientele in the past year, the Become Better staff is looking to add to its team. In this role you would be responsible for overseeing the training facility during both private and semi-private client sessions.
Typical Job duties include but are not limited to:
Conduct private training sessions for clients
Demonstrate and coach the client through the exercises on their program
Make modifications to the workout as necessary
Ensure safety and accuracy of training program
Coach multiple semi-private clients at the same time
Keep a watchful eye on all clients to ensure they are following their program correctly.
Make modifications to workouts as necessary
Answer any questions clients may have on their workout
Create new exercise plans for clients to match needs and goals
Contribute and maintain facility equipment including proper organization and storage
Ensure cleanliness of the training facility including weight room, bathrooms, kitchen, waiting area, etc.
Other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate will have relevant education and experience as a personal trainer.
Job Qualifications include:
Bachelor or Masters Degree in Exercise Science or related field
Or working towards a degree for internship applicants
Three years of experience in personal training preferred
Less experience required for internship applicants, but more is of course helpful.
Demonstrated knowledge of personal training or fitness program
Ability to commute reliably and work onsite
High level of communication and customer service skills
